Web Design & Digital Publishing

cambridge website designs

Welcome to Cambridge Digital

Cambridge Digital deliver web design and website development, web marketing and Web 2.0 applications, principally for business applications. We also develop digital materials such as CD-ROMs, digital marketing materials, Content Management Systems and e-learning. We work principally with clients in the UK, mainland Europe and New Zealand from our bases in Cambridge in the UK and Cambridge in New Zealand.

Our website is itself a rather eccentric affair as it is a testing ground for our Exintra Content Management System, which is why it changes structure quite a lot. It's also why we currently have a form on the home page: the form builder is built into the CMS, and the one on this page took two minutes for a non-tecnical person to create. If you don't want to use it, you can just minimise it and move it to the bottom of the page yourself - that's another feature of our customisable pages.

Please take a look around our website at examples of our website designs, CD-ROM publishing and projects large and small, and contact us to discuss your needs.

What's New

We're doing a lot of work on our Exintra CMS. In the past year we have developed an Integrated Forms module that allows you to create a path of forms and documents to take clients through whole processes such as online sales or an internal staff appraisal process. We've brought in the capacity to integrate SMS into your communications, and select the individuals and groups to be notified thus for any specific notification or templated comunication. These were developed initially for Farsight Security to run their fault tracking system, and we've then created a more generic application and built it into the codebase.

Kerry Logistics have a large number of offices in the UK and world wide. They wanted an address book module so that users could select regions and locations and find a list of their offices. But they also needed non-technical staff from anywhere in the world to be able to add to the list and edit it, as long as they are set up with the appropriate permissions. That's a great tool which now works really well.

Our draggable interface has always been a unique facility that Exintra offers - no other CMS allows admin users to create any number of pages in which the users can select and move around the content that displays on the web pages.

We're now building a new version, that this site is currently using, which uses a five-column structure in which any of the modules can be set to display at any number of column widths from 1 to 5. It will obviously give a great deal more flexibility in terms of page layouts. We're currently playing with it to see how it fares. if you want to make any comments, please do via the form or email - we'd be very happy to get feedback from you!

About Cambridge Digital

Cambridge Digital is a web design and new media company

interactive website designWe're a small company based in Cambridge in the UK, with a sales outlet in Cambridge, New Zealand run by the effervescent Claire Pollock, and a very pretty office in the centre of Paris which we share with our EEIG partners in Europe.

We specialise in the creation of highly interactive, complex websites, interface design and digital educational publishing. We have a strong focus on designing from the perspective of the end-user, lead by our work in education and training. We have been developing websites and other digital materials such as CD-ROMs, databases, Content Management Systems (CMS) and e-learning since 2003. We work with clients to deliver the best and most cost-effective answer to their needs, using custom or open-source software to deliver innovative and effective solutions.

Websites and CD-ROMs

We develop CD-ROM and web-based solutions for clients such as A&C Black Publishing (a division of Bloomsbury), Cambridge University Press, Edexcel and Pearson Education, as well as smaller corporate clients. We also develop solutions for specific internal users to a company’s services, for example an internal import/export statistics package for Twinings’ (Tea). Other projects have a wider audience: the Course Companion CD-ROMs we designed and developed for the examining company Edexcel are some of their fastest-selling products, and our video-english site, currently being re-developed on our exintra platform, runs to 1200 pages, 150 000 visitors and 4.5 million hits a year from all over the world.

Digital media that works

donarbon website design cambridgeWe ensure we keep an eye on the latest technologies and what's happening in the digital world so that we can offer the best possible solutions to drive our clients' business needs. Take our exciting new exintra CMS 2.0 platform, for example. On it we create stunning, purposeful websites with fully customisable layouts and built-in content and customer management systems, to enable companies of all sizes to provide high levels of interactivity and personalisation for their customers.

We work within companies as well as for companies, and develop and maintain strong relationships with our clients. The surest indication of this is the high level of repeat business we enjoy from our clients, for some of whom we deliver multiple projects each year, ranging from marketing demonstrations to full-scale products and websites.
