Client: Kerry Logistics  Platform: Exintra CMS with external application integration

Kerry Logistics is one of the biggest logistics operators in the world, with a very significant presence in mainland China and across Asia and the rest of the world. Kerry Logistics (UK) Ltd is the UK arm of the company and a forward-thinking organisation whose client relationships are at the heart of their business. 

Being part of such a large group, and with a web presence that was simply a section of the global website, the UK division wanted to create an online entity of their own, which they could use to work with their clients and also to provide a sales and marketing tool.

We proposed Exintra to them in 2008, and built them in the first instance a portal to work with their clients. It provides access to the tracking systems they already had in place and a document repository so that Kerry's agents can set up document exchange areas for specific clients so that they can easily access papers and files they need in a simple and secure way. Coupled with news outlets, company-specific pages and group areas for clients such as Balfour Beatty, it  was very successful in cementing relationships and creating a reliable communication suite for client interaction.

In 2010, Kerry decided they wanted to increase the use of the portal as a marketing tool, so commissioned us to create a front end that gave an in-depth picture of what they do around the world.

We also looked at creating a resource for people looking for information on China and transport in China. As one of the largest operators in this field, Kerry have a repository of images that is unique, and which give a fascinating view of the changing industrial and commercial face of modern China, and making this available to the public was something we saw as a useful driver of traffic to the site as well as something very useful for lots of schools and general interest users.

The extensive additions we therefore made to the site give a far more comprehensive view of what Kerry Logists (UK) Ltd do, and what the Kerry Group as a whole do around the world, and it is both interesting and highly effective in terms of search engine relevance and attractiveness.
