The Jockey Club![]() We're tremendously excited to be working with the Jockey Club to provide an extranet for the 19 organisations that fall under their umbrella, including 14 racecourses around the country. Our Exintra platform was chosen over open-source alternatives such as Drupal and Joomla just because it is so much easier to use, and we've developed the social and collaborative aspects of the platform in response to their needs to make a really powerful and comfortable environment in which colleagues in different organisations and locations can socialise and work together. New features include a project management system shorn of too much complexity - with users able to create a project, invite collaborators and create and assign tasks and notes to them. That's possible because of the internal emailing and messaging system that can be exploited by a range of functions beside the project management suite: blogging, sending general alerts, sharing calendars and an internal 'small ads' system are some of them. It's not just cool and powerful, but also very efficient in terms of data transfer too, which can be significant for a lot of large organisations where email storage can become a significant issue. We are also providing training and support for Jockey Club employees around the country on an on-going basis, and take a great deal of pleasure in introducing our end-users to the simplicity and power that the platform offers. It's a scenario that exactly fits what we always wanted Exintra to do: to make complex web processes really simple to do for entirely non-technical people. We aim to learn a lot from this opportunity and to roll that experience back into our product development over the coming months and years. |
