Game-Based Learning We’ve been designing and building game-based learning and training materials for many years. In fact we designed the ‘Feed the Dragon’ and ‘Phonic Football’ products for RM’s ‘Early Steps in Literacy’ product to teach phonics to very young learners, and have had lots of fun with all sorts of projects over the years.Games are a fantastic way to deliver training and teaching, from the simple animated game to complex role-plays and decision-driven journey games. The digital environment means that they can be engaged with over a period of time and that interactions, not just results, can be recorded to form fascinating insights into user decisions and behaviour. Cambridge Digital is part of a collaboration which is currently producing a game authoring and production tool called ‘Gamescaper’ which offers a fantastic way of conceptualising and then scripting games with all the myriad branches of actions and reactions that grow out of quite simple conversations and situational dramas. The tool then handles the asset collation process through a production phase and publishes a schema to run the game with all attendant user analysis. ![]() Gamescaper is a powerful and unique tool that brings huge time and cost savings to game authoring and production, and brings complex training game production down into a much lower pricing bracket than it usually demands. We’d be delighted to take a look at your projects or training needs to see how we could realise a cost effective and engaging game production for you. |

A key area for content creation for us has been in producing software training, sometimes in conjunction with professional development training and assessment programs.
