    Modules Page

Modules pages are one of the most commonly used page types when creating a site with Exintra. Use a modules page whenever you want to add modules that you have created to a page.

    1. Click on the blue ‘Architecture’ button in the Exintra Panel at the top of the page. Then, click on the ‘Create Page’ button. Select ‘Modules Page’ from the list.

    2. Fill in the ‘Page Title’, ‘Navigation Title’ and ‘URL Shortcut’ fields. The page title is visible at the top of the browser window, and is also very important for search engine indexing. The navigation title will appear in the navigation menu, and it is important to keep it as short as possible. The URL shortcut allows you to rename the page address so that it displays neatly in the browser address bar.

    3. Now, fill in the ‘Page keyword tags’ and ‘Page description tags’ fields. The keywords you enter here will be used by search engines to catalogue your page. Separate your keywords using commas.

    4. When you have finished filling in all the fields, click the ‘Save’ button at the bottom left of the page to save the changes. Now, click on the ‘Permissions’ button to open the permissions tab. In the permissions tab, you can set whether the page is visible or restricted to different groups of users. In the example below, there is only one user group (Public users), so ensure that the ‘Visible’ radio button is selected.

    5. When you have set the permissions, click the ‘Save’ button again to save the changes. Now, click on the ‘Status’ button to open the status tab.

    6. In the status tab, select the checkboxes to determine whether your page displays in the main navigation menu, and / or the footer.

If you wish to assign your page another parent page, select the relevant page from the ‘Select parent page’ dropdown menu.

If you want your page to appear in a side navigation module, you can select the module from the ‘Display in side navigation’ dropdown menu.

You can specify a custom page header image by clicking the ‘Browse…’ button next to the ‘Custom page header’ menu item. Browse to the image on your computer to upload it.

By changing the ‘Order’ value, you can specify where your page appears in the navigation menus. The higher the number, the further down the list it will appear.

Finally, select the ‘Home page’ checkbox if you want your page to be the home page for the site. Note that you can only have one home page per site.

    7. When you’ve finished making changes to the status tab, click the ‘Save’ button to save the changes. Then, click on the ‘Content’ button to open the content tab.

    8. In the content tab, you can add content (modules) to your page. Start by clicking the ‘Add row’ button, and choose a layout from the menu. This layout will define how modules are displayed on the page. You can add as many different rows as you like.

    9. The row will be added to your page. Click the ‘Add module’ button where you want to add a module. Select the relevant module from the list and it will be added to the row.

    10. You can continue to add rows and modules in this way until the page is populated with all the content you require. If you wish to change the layout of the rows and modules, you can do so by dragging and dropping.

To move a module, move the mouse over the module. A dark grey menu will appear at the top. Click and hold on ‘Move’, then drag and drop the module to its new position.

To move a row, click and hold on ‘Move row’ at the top of the row, then drag and drop the row to its new position.

    11. To edit the content of a module, move the mouse over the module so that the dark grey menu appears at the top. Select ‘Settings’ from the menu.

To remove a module from a row, move the mouse over the module and select ‘Remove’ from the menu that appears.

Each module also has certain settings that can be tailored specifically to that page (useful if a module is used on many different pages and needs to look different on each page). To do this, first move the mouse over the module and select ‘Page settings’ from the menu that appears.

    12. From the menu that appears, you can change the following settings;

Changing the ‘Height’ value will change the height of the module on the page.

If you check the ‘Disable drag and drop?’ checkbox, users will not be able to drag and drop the module around the page.

Select a value from the ‘Rounded corners’ dropdown menu to give your module rounded edges.

Change the background colour of the module by typing a hexadecimal value into the ‘Background colour’ field. Colours are defined in terms of red, green and blue (RGB), each having a hexadecimal value between 00 and FF. For example, bright red would be #FF0000, whereas bright green would be #00FF00.

You can upload a background image for the module from your computer by clicking the ‘Browse…’ button next to ‘Background Image’.

If you specify a background image, you can change its alignment and the way it tiles (repeats) by choosing from the ‘Horizontal alignment’, ‘Vertical alignment’ and ‘Background repeat’.

Hide the module’s border and spacing or remove its margin by checking the ‘Hide border and spacing’ and ‘Remove margin’ checkboxes.

When you’re finished changing the settings, click the ‘Save’ button.
