    Module Display Settings

The majority of module types have customisable display settings that can change the way a module looks when added to a page. This tutorial can be applied to any module with customisable display settings.

    1. Click on the blue ‘Architecture’ button in the Exintra Panel at the top of the page. Then, click on the ‘Create Module’ button. Finally, select ‘Content and Links’ from the list.

    2. In the module settings page, select ‘Customise display settings’ from the ‘Default display settings’ dropdown menu.

    3. Select whether or not the module’s title is displayed by clicking on the relevant ‘Show Title’ radio button. The height of the module is automatically set by the content of the module. This can be overridden by changing the value in the ‘Height’ field. If the ‘Disable drag and drop’ checkbox is checked, users will not be able to move the module around the page. You can give the module rounded corners (this feature is not supported by all browsers) by changing the value in the ‘Rounded corners’ field.

    4. Now, select ‘Custom Background’ from the ‘Default Background’ dropdown menu. You can either specify a hexadecimal colour value to give the background a flat shaded colour, or you can click the ‘Browse’ button next to the ‘Background Image’ field to upload an image for the module background.

    5. Click on the ‘Browse’ button next to the ‘Background Image’ field and upload an image for the module background (any image will do). Three more dropdown menus will appear. These control the alignment and repeat (tiling) options for the background image. For the horizontal alignment, you can choose to align to the left, centre or right. For the vertical alignment, you can choose to align to the top, centre or bottom. For the background repeat, you can select no repeat (the image is not repeated (tiled)), repeat (the image is repeated in both the x and y axes), repeat-x (the image is repeated in the x axis only) and repeat-y (the image is repeated in the y-axis only).

    6. Now, select ‘Custom Border’ from the ‘Border’ dropdown menu. You can specify a border size by changing the value in the ‘Border Width’ field. From the ‘Border Style’ dropdown menu, you can specify a solid, dashed or dotted border type. You can also specify a border colour by typing in a hexadecimal colour value into the ‘Border Colour’ field.

    7. Select ‘Custom padding’ from the ‘Module Padding’ dropdown menu. You can specify the amount of padding for the top, bottom, left and right of the module by changing the value in the relevant ‘Set Padding’ field. The same can be done for the module margin by selecting ‘Custom Margin’ from the ‘Module Margin’ dropdown menu.

    8. Finally, click on ‘Save’ at the bottom left of the page. Add your module to a page to see the changes.
