When you click on the 'Add a page' menu you will be presented with a number of options for creating new pages for your website: from simple content and hybrid pages to interactive forums, file repositories and RSS feeders.
When creating pages for content the 'Hybrid page' option is particularly useful as it allows you to place modules such as (RSS fed) company news throughout your website.
Choose a page type from the list to start creating your new page. You can choose to customise (add content to) your page straight away or add content to your page at a later time by clicking on the page via the 'View pages' option. By default, new pages you create will not be displayed on your site until you enable them, giving you time to edit them until you are satisfied they are ready to publish.
The first step in customising your page is to choose where it will fit into your website (remember if you enable it it will be published immediately). Select the status box to add a button to your website navigation bar for the page - this can be at the top level or as a sub-page of an existing main page. You will also need to decide where the button will be placed (from left to right) in your navigation bar and choose a title for it; which you should keep quite short to make room for other buttons on the navigation bar.
Next you will need to choose a browser title and add meta data to your page: please see the 'Site configuration' section for more information on this.
The 'Type' box enables you to select which users can view the page i.e. all (public) users or users from certain groups (please see the section on 'Users & Groups' for more information).
Finally you can choose to define the URL address (shortcut) of your page that will appear in an internet browser's address bar and make it easier for you to send to customers if you want to point them to a specific page on your website e.g. this page has been labelled: 'www.cambridgedigital.com/cms_addingpages'
Once you have set your page up click 'Next' to start adding content to it or 'Cancel' to delete the information and return to View pages.' Note: your page will not be deleted if you click on cancel - you will need to do this from the 'View Pages' area.
